Session One: June 18-19, 2018
Session Two: June 21-22, 2018
Session Three: June 25-26, 2018
Session Four: June 28-29, 2018

Open Rhodes is a two-day summer program where you will:

  • Work with a faculty advisor to develop your fall academic course schedule requests
  • Learn about life at Rhodes by meeting students, faculty and staff
  • Stay on campus for one night

Who Should Attend?
All students enrolling at Rhodes for the first time in the fall of 2018 (Class of 2022 and transfer students) should attend. Families are welcome but not required to attend. Some student sessions will be open to families and each two-day program will include a family program track.

How Do I Sign Up?
Students will only be able to register after they have paid their new student enrollment deposit by going to registration calendar in their Admission Portal. Registration is on a first-come, first-served basis, so it’s important to register as soon as possible.  An email confirmation will be sent to the student′s email address with assigned registration date.

How Much Does It Cost?
$200—which includes all meals, materials, and student housing. The program fee will be included on your fall tuition bill. There will not be a separate billing for this program. All students are assessed this charge.

What Do I Need to Do to Prepare for Orientation?
Bring a rough list of classes that you are interested in taking when you arrive in the fall. You do not need to have a schedule ready, but think about the areas you would like to study. Be sure to bring (or know) your Rhodes email address (given to students on June 1) and password.

What do I need to bring to Open Rhodes?

  • Comfortable clothing (summer temperatures can reach the upper 90’s)
  • Bath towel & wash cloth
  • Toiletries
  • Alarm clock
  • Money for any purchases at the Rhodes Bookstore

During the Open Rhodes program, students will stay in campus residence halls. Roommate assignments will be made by the Residence Life staff, and you will be notified of your room and roommate at the program check-in. Bed linens will be provided during the program.
