Dr. Jennifer D. Sciubba, the Stanley J. Buckman Professor of International Studies at Rhodes College, has launched a new podcast about global population trends and implications.

Dr. Leslie Petty, associate professor and chair of the English department, was named as the director of this year’s American Literature Association Conference. The 29th annual conference was held May 24-27 in San Francisco, CA.
They have been analyzing residues from smoking pipes excavated from archaeological sites in Mississippi, Arkansas, Georgia, and Alabama for year, and they now have published a paper describing their discovery.
She recently graduated from Rhodes with a bachelor’s degree in environmental studies. In addition to teaching, she plans to study environmental values in Estonian culture and how those values are essential in preserving natural spaces.
As a fellow, Gleeson will work at the Global Crop Diversity Trust in Bonn, Germany. The fellowship provides the opportunity for a recent graduate to develop an understanding of issues associated with agricultural biodiversity conservation.
