Through the multimedia work of Brent Green and Heather Benning, "de | constructing home" examines the relationship between the physical structure of the house and the idea of home. Benning has contained a nostalgia for place  toward different ends, alternately constructing and deconstructing. In both instances, home is discovered to be at once comfortable and foreign. Curated in partnership with Karen Patterson, assistant curator at the John Michael Kohler Arts Center, this exhibition is part of This Must Be the Place, a year-long series of exhibitions and events examining art's relationship to place. The series culminates in a conference organized by the Memphis Center at Rhodes College on February 18 and 19.
