Communications: Content Developers

Content Developers: Two RSA Positions
Immediate Supervisor:  Henry Smith smith1@rhodes.edu

Generate content such as photos, videos, graphics, and text that feature students, faculty, organizations, and stories of interest. Working in the Division of Marketing and Communications, students gain valuable experience in shooting event and location-based photography, one-on-one interviewing, creating content designed for digital and print publications, and developing story ideas. Content generated by our division is shared to the Rhodes.edu web site, our flagship social media channels, internal communications, and is also central to the marketing support that our office provides to stakeholders across campus.

Organic Social Media/Content Creation

Looking for students with strong Digital Content Creation experience with an interest in Digital Marketing and Social Media Content Development.
Preferred Skills:
- Strong Photography and Videography Skills (Professional Camera experience NOT Necessary) 
- Strong Background in TikTok & SnapChat content creation
- Creative Thinking
- Familiarity with Graphic Design (Photoshop skills is a +) 
- Interest in Organic Social Media Marketing

Scope of Work
Work closely with the Digital Marketing Director to develop and publish 

  • Social Media Content
  • Video and Photography Content for Social Media
  • Blogs, website content, marketing campaign testing/development & reporting
  • Developing digital Rhodes Student lifestyle voice and strategy for omnichannel implementation
  • Leveraging your experience to create and develop a unique Rhodes Student Voice

Digital Marketing Data Analyst


Looking for students with strong Analytics Skills with an interest in Digital Marketing and reporting.

Preferred Skills:
- Strong Reporting Skills
- Strong Research Skills 
- Strong Background in PowerBI, Tableau, Google Data Studio (Or similar platforms) 
- Background or interest in digital marketing is a plus
- Interest in Iterative Optimization and Testing

Scope of Work
Work closely with the Digital Marketing Director to monitor and create reports for

  • Email/Social Media 
  • Audience Segmentation
  • Web Traffic 
  • Customer (i.e. admissions + donor) reporting
  • Leveraging data to develop marketing strategy

Minimum Qualifications for all positions:

  • Familiarity with both PC and Mac platforms
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Word and other writing software
  • Experience or a willingness to speak to public and conduct interviews for publication.
  • Candidate should be able to work adequate hours (minimum 12 per week) in the Office of Communications and think and act independently

Physical Demands:

  • Ability to work in front of a computer for extended periods
  • Some walking, sitting, standing, and lifting required
