Memphis Among Top Cities For Millennials

According to a new article on the TIME website, Memphis ranks No. 4 among the top 25 cities where millennials are moving. “While places like New York City and Los Angeles remain millennial magnets, research from the Urban Land Institute shows that smaller cities, from Virginia Beach, Va., to Riverside, Calif., are actually seeing the most relative growth in their population of 25-to-34-year-olds,” writes David Johnson. Rhodes is one of a handful of prominent liberal arts colleges located in a major metropolitan area. Students are involved in volunteerism and service throughout the Memphis community, for example, tutoring neighborhood children, working in health-care facilities, and befriending the homeless. The city also provides students internship and research opportunities. Typically 35 percent of the graduating class remains in Memphis to work or attend graduate school.
