She and her co-founders have assembled a nationwide team of “curators” in Memphis, New York, and Washington, D.C., to promote nonprofits and socially responsible businesses. Curators also are encouraged to volunteer 20 percent of their time to causes that matter to them personally.

The book is titled Political Economy of China-Taiwan Relations: Its Origins and Development. Prof. Chen’s teaching and research interests included the political economy of East Asian countries, China’s domestic politics and foreign relations, democratization, state-society interactions, and economic interdependence.

The Rhodes senior is pursuing a double major in international studies and Russian studies. “While in Kazakhstan, I will further examine how this Central Asian republic, with two official languages, intends to implement English language programs as part of its ambitious development goals,” he says.

A Rhodes senior pursuing a double major in political science and Russian studies, Elizabeth Lewis will serve as a Fulbright English Teaching Assistant in Belarus. “I plan to examine the role folk music plays in community building and the preservation of tradition,” she says.
