General Description of the Position:
This RSA will be tasked with organizing our departmental tutoring and providing support for the software/services that are housed in our department.
The RSA will organize our tutoring schedules and keep track of all of the hours that each tutor works. They will also work with faculty to understand what projects students are needing the most help on in tutoring. They will provide extra support for tutors by letting them know what projects/classes tutors will likely be tutoring. They will also setup and maintain the tutoring tracking software that we use. This is software written in house that allows students to “swipe in” with their Rhodes to tutoring (keeping a record of when/why the student is needing tutoring). This RSA will also be in charge of creating user reports and sharing them with interested parties. The RSA will also help support the hardware lab and will make sure that the hardware lab equipment is well-maintained.
Last, this RSA will help support our cloud computing system that we use for our introductory classes. For our introductory classes, we run our own server and have students log into these machines to access Python “notebooks” that we maintain. Part of this RSA position is to support our system and help faculty/students who have problems with the system.
