General Description of Position:

The RSAP position is necessary for the ongoing work of the Turley Memphis Center which includes support for the new Turley Scholars and continued support for the Memphis Center Fellowships in the Arts.  The student associate serves as advanced support for several program initiatives including, but not limited to fellowship tracking, event planning, communications, and maintenance of digital archives.  In addition, the student associate supports the program’s director and associate director.  This position is crucial in numerous respects, ranging from communication to record-keeping, and the program would suffer in significant ways if the position was eliminated.

 

This RSAP position offers a Rhodes student a unique chance to participate in meaningful employment that links their academic work with broader training in a variety of skills and networks. The student who holds this position is exposed to a variety of skills and approaches that prepare that student for numerous kinds of employment or post-graduate opportunities.  


Minimum Qualifications

Must be punctual, organized, able to communicate professionally via email and phone, and able to work on processes involving multiple steps to achieve a successful outcome.

Preferred Qualifications

 

Self-motivated, flexible, persistent, proactive, innovative, able to use Microsoft Office (including Word, PowerPoint and Xcel), facility with social-media platforms, and interest in the arts.

Physical Demands: any heavy lifting, moving heavy objects, or long periods of sitting or standing. Make sure your job description is as ADA friendly as possible. Does your job require maneuvering of stairs or other unique physical requirements?
