General Description of Position:
Assist Rhodes Student Associates with tasks related to environmental activities and initiatives that are housed in Physical Plant. Primary function is recycling, which includes retrieving work orders for recycling, going to buildings and pulling recyclable materials, assessing condition of bins and signage and correcting/replacing as needed, and collecting/entering data about recycling. Additional functions are helping with compilation of data about the college’s CO2 emissions, helping with special campus events related to sustainability (Earth Day, welcome baskets, et al.), compiling information about energy usage on campus, and helping with other types of environmental information collection as needed. As schedules permit, one or more of these positions will spend a portion of time working in the Rhodes College Bike Program and shop, assisting with bike check-outs and check-ins and other duties related to the RCBP. These positions will also assist with administration of the Zipcar program, including data collection, taking cars in for service, et al. Other duties not related to sustainability may also be assigned.
Minimum Qualifications:
Valid driver license
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience working with Excel, especially with common math formulas
Physical Demands:
Job requires an ability to climb stairs in buildings without elevators. Job also requires an ability to lift and carry up to 25 lbs.
