Journey Abroad Again

Making a Habit of Cross-Cultural Learning

Many students return from a study abroad program inquiring how to go abroad again.  Here are a few ideas to get you started:

Study Abroad Again
Use your summers as Study Abroad summers.  Or, having spent a summer abroad already, plan a semester or year program abroad.  The Staff at the Buckman Center can help you plan wisely.

Volunteer Abroad

There are lots of opportunities for service abroad; contact the Staff of Rhodes' Bonner Center for Faith and Service for ideas, or review the "Volunteer Abroad" page to the left.

Work or Intern Abroad
An incredible inroad to working abroad will be networking with your contacts that you made on your study abroad program. There are also websites devoted to getting work overseas.  These web resources are good places to start: Transitions Abroad"The Big Guide to Living and Working Overseas"Dave's ESL Cafe, and of course, our own Office of Career Services at Rhodes.  There is also a list of Intern Abroad Directories on the page to the left.

Post-Graduate Scholarships/Fellowships Abroad

Every year, competitive scholarship organizations grant awards to graduated students who are committed to furthering their first-hand understanding of other countries.  The Post-Graduate Scholarships Office at Rhodes, headed by Rhodes College faculty, assists Rhodes students in the pursuit of these prestigious awards.
