Student Resources

Our office offers a variety of resources for students to take advantage of during their time at Rhodes. Alongside our Four Year Plan, students should be sure to utilize these opportunities to improve upon their professional outlook and enhance their resume!

Professional Advising
The best way to get your career started is by seeking out guidance. Students should intend to meet with their respective advisors several times a year. Schedule a meeting by logging into Handshake and going to the Career Center tab.

Handshake Job Board
Internship and job opportunities are posted daily on our online job board. Create an account to get access, and start looking for jobs!

Major Exploration and Professional Development
Utilize our office’s free subscription to PathwayU which offers a variety of career planning tools, including free online career assessments focusing on interests, values, personality, workplace preferences, and more. These assessments are geared to help students learn more about their interests, what areas of study they would be interested in, and how they fit into career opportunities!

Networking Opportunities
Throughout the year, Careers offers opportunities for students to network with career officials, executives, and alumni. From our Alumni Wine and Networking series, to doing giveaways of Grizzlies and sports business networking tickets, students who utilize our office and keep up with our events get plenty of opportunity to branch out and meet professionals. Be sure to follow us on social media to get those announcements as soon as they are released!

Graduate School and Career Search Fairs
Careers hosts several fairs during the year to assist students in finding opportunities for their futures! In the Fall, Careers hosts our Graduate School Exposition where over 100 different graduate programs come to Rhodes and meet prospective applicants on campus! Past attendees of this event have included national and regional law schools, divinity schools, medical school programs, and graduate level programs. You won’t want to miss this one!

Meanwhile, in the spring Careers hosts our annual Career Fair where both regional and national employers come to Rhodes to speak to prospective applicants and those looking for work after college. Employers who attend this program have opportunities for a wide variety of students and majors. This is a great chance for students to both network and research interesting post-graduate opportunities

Mock Interview Service
Schedule a meeting by logging into Handshake and going to the Career Center tab. You can setup a mock interview for you with one of our counselors!

Resume Drop-Off Service
Bring your resume to our office and leave it overnight or email your resume to careers@rhodes.edu! One of our student associates will look it over, offer constructive critiques, and get it back to you within 48 hours! If you are having your resume reviewed for an internship, you can email your resume to internships@rhodes.edu.

QuadJobs
Career Services now offers QuadJobs as a service to students and employers. QuadJobs is an online marketplace that connects college students with local jobs that fit into their schedules, such as babysitting, party help, tutoring, office work, furniture moving, errands, dog walking, and more. Students simply complete a brief profile to find jobs that match their interests and availability based on employers' needs – it’s a great way to gain real-world experience and make a little money.
