Professor Anna Eldridge serves as ombudsperson for all faculty and staff members at Rhodes College.

The office officially opened on January 10, 2024, and reports directly to the Office of the President.

The Ombuds is a confidential resource who is exempt from traditional reporting requirements.

The role of the Ombuds is to communicate with faculty and staff members seeking support and advice on how to approach and resolve conflict. The Ombuds is also responsible for identifying significant trends in behavior and conflict and reporting any consistent patterns directly to the President’s Office.

The Rhodes College Ombuds is a member of the International Ombuds Association (IOA) and is committed to following the IOA’s code principles of Impartiality, Independence, Informality, and Confidentiality.

The Ombuds will host office hours on Wednesday afternoons from 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. in the Matthews Room, 220 Briggs. On dates when a conflict makes holding formal office hours impractical, a notice with alternative hours will be posted.
