General Description of Position:

Want to have fun while earning your financial aid award?  Join us at the Meeman Center! Ours is like no other job on campus- because it’s a fun place to be. We are welcoming Meeman Students every evening Monday through Thursday.  There are other student responsibilities that would include general office tasks such as word processing documents, filing, collating, organizing and phones.  The job would also require students to learn class set up routine and assist in the preparation for classes and other events that are held for the Meeman Center in King Hall.  Routine would involve everything from the physical set up of the classroom with tables and seating for students and professors, to the food and beverage preparation and set up for each class.  Attention to detail is very important.  Student employee needs to be outgoing and polite, well-groomed and dressed appropriately.  

Preferred Qualifications:

Available to work a minimum of 10 hours per week (which includes AT LEAST ONE evening (Monday-Thursday).  Have basic knowledge of office and computer equipment and word processing skills.  Good phone skills, able to take direction and be self-motivated, have an outgoing personality and work well with others.  Also enjoys helping to create fun, tasty appetizers and other refreshments for class.   

Physical Demands:

Physical demands of the job are minimal but it does require movement of rolling tables and chairs in the classrooms to adapt to the needs of the individual classes. Also includes carrying refreshments and beverages into serving area and greeting our lifelong learning students at the door as they arrive for class. Some occasional light lifting of boxes to re-organize and re-locate records and other Meeman property to storage.  Going up and down stairs as needed.
