Job Description

Working in the Psychology Department during the summer is primarily assisting faculty with research tasks. These tasks likely require some of the following: data coding, Excel, SPSS, excellent typing skills, internet research skills, library research skills, PowerPoint skills and basic office and administrative skills. Thus, attention to detail and ability to work independently are required skills. You may also be asked to do these additional duties and tasks including: greet visitors, answer phones, make copies and scans, distribute mail and hand deliver material to other members of the Rhodes community, and check out books from the library for faculty. Additionally, all student workers are asked to assist with maintaining a functional office, which includes filling the printer, the fax machine and the copier in 113 with paper, assisting in arranging department’s bulletin boards, covering small office matters in assistant’s absence, and keeping work areas tidy and clean. Additionally, student workers in this position should be willing and able to help in department renovation (e.g., packing boxes, light lifting).

Required Education

Continuing student at Rhodes College.
