Creating Your Own Organization

Are you interested in creating an LGBTQ+ themed organization on campus?

Before you start, it is important to understand that with 2,055 students, Rhodes is a very small campus. This might make it difficult to foster a community from scratch. It is important to ensure there are enough people to sustain it by creating a petition with at least 20 signatures from people who would join your organization. Be sure to get their emails as well.

Second, draft a constitution which outlines what the organization is called, what its mission statement is, and how it plans to achieve that mission statement.

Third, submit your constitution to your class representative so it can be approved or revised.

Once approved, you can then ask people to join your executive board and help you run the organization.

Finally, spread the word through Presence, Rhodes.edu, the SACK Fair, and fliers.
