General Description of Position: 
Student employees are expected to complete a number of office tasks on a regular basis:

  • filing
  • copying
  • scanning
  • running on-campus errands
  • providing research assistance
  • closing the office at the end of the day
  • other duties as assigned

Minimum Qualifications:

Knowledge of Microsoft Office

Preferred Qualifications:

Knowledge of Adobe Acrobat and Publisher

Physical Demands: 

Student employees should expect long periods of sitting and occasional lifting of office supplies like office paper and books for professors. Additionally, professors frequently request library resources, while the departmental assistant may require students to take documents to Accounting, the Dean’s Office, or some other office on campus. Student employees are required to travel across campus to complete these requests.
