General Description of Position:
Reporting to the Assistant Director of Health Professions Advising, the HPA Student Employee supports the department’s mission of serving pre-health students through advising, programming and campus and community partnerships. The HPA student employee may be asked to provide support in the following areas:
- Provide support for the Medical Health Humanities Institute programming throughout June and July.
- Research national trends and data relevant to health professions advising.
- Represent HPA at Open Rhodes events as needed.
- Compile and edit evaluation letter packets for pre-medical and pre-dental students.
- General office responsibilities, including data entry, copying, and filing.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Continuing student at Rhodes College.
- Seeking to pursue a career in health professions.
- Able to work 10 hours per week between the hours of 9:00am-5:00pm M-F, with flexibility to work during the evenings if needed.
- Ability to work independently and with supervision.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office, especially Word and Excel.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Seeking to pursue a career in health professions
- Strong written and oral communication skills
- Experience working with various social media platforms
- Strong attention to detail
- Ability to work independently, manage projects and deadlines; solution-oriented
- Administrative or customer service experience
Physical Demands:
- May deliver materials around campus using a dolly or a cart for HPA programming and events.
- May need to lift boxes for HPA programming and events.
