Welcome! You are an essential part of keeping the Lynx Pantry running smoothly and providing
vital resources to our fellow students. This document outlines your responsibilities as a Student
Worker.
Summer Hours: Total 15hrs weekly
• STAFFING
O 12PM-3 PM – Monday, Wed, Friday
• ADMIN/STAFF
o 10AM -12PM – Tuesday (Restocking from the Mid-South Food Bank)
O 4PM -5PM - Saturdays (Picking up donations from Ginger’s Bread Co.)
Location and Access:
● The Lynx Pantry is located in the Hyde Hall at the Refractory.
● The key to the pantry is stored at the pantry outside entry.
● You will be provided with the passcode to unlock both doors at the beginning of your shift
and lock them upon closing.
Requirements
● Start May 19th and serve until Aug. 16th
● Complete the Serve-Safe Training for Mid-South Food Bank Community Partners
● Complete training for PantryTrak for Mid-South Food Bank Community Partners
● Participate in the on-site training Partner training for the Mid-South Food Bank
Duties
Inventory Management:
● Before the end of each shift, ensure all food items are pushed forward on the shelves for
better visibility and accessibility.
● Restock the pantry using available supplies
● Check for low stock and report any needed restocking to the Food Pantry Supervisor.
● Daily Update PantryTrak with new client form submissions
● Take out trash, remove food that has been damaged or compromised, and maintain a
clean environment.
● Maintain a social media intitiatives
● Be prepared to undertake other duties as assigned by the Food Pantry Supervisor, which
may include:
○ Assisting with food pick-up or deliveries.
○ Participating in outreach initiatives to promote the pantry's services.
○ Completing administrative tasks as needed.
Client Service and Food Distribution:
● Clients must check-in using the posted QR codes in the pantry.
● As per College policy, clients are limited to visiting the pantry twice a week.
● During check-in, politely verify that the client has not already visited the pantry twice that
week.
● Guide clients through the pantry and explain the limitations:
○ 3-5 Vegetables & Fruits
○ 3 Protein Items
○ 2 Grains or Sweet Treats
○ 3-5 Toiletries
● Assist clients in selecting their groceries while maintaining a welcoming and helpful demeanor.
Confidentiality:
● All client information obtained during your service is confidential. Please respect client privacy and refrain from discussing any details with unauthorized personnel.
Remember:
● You play a vital role in ensuring our fellow students have access to essential food resources.
● Be professional, courteous, and helpful towards all clients.
