General Description of Position:
The Rhodes College Office of Admission is responsible for recruiting, evaluating, and enrolling prospective students while sharing the story and values of the college with future Lynx and their families. Through campus visits, outreach, events, and digital communication, the office works to build meaningful connections with prospective students and guide them through the college search and application process. A Student Social Media Associate plays an important role in supporting this mission by helping communicate the Rhodes experience online. By creating engaging content, covering admission events, and managing platforms such as class-specific Instagram pages, the associate helps showcase authentic student life, highlight campus opportunities, and connect prospective students with the Rhodes community in a relatable way. In this job you will be:
- Collaborate with Admission social media liaison on projects
- Create graphics and video content for Instagram and other social media platforms
- Cover Admission events on social media (photos, stories, etc.) (events may be at night or on a weekend)
- Generate content ideas for Admission Instagram
- Manage the official “Class Of” Instagram page
- Check in daily to review assigned projects
- Reach out to campus partners for collaboration opportunities
Minimum Qualifications:
- Knowledge of Canva, Adobe Photoshop, and other editing software
- Strong writing skills
- Creative spirit
- Basic photography skills
Preferred qualifications:
- Interest in marketing or communications
- Interest in recruiting future students
Physical Demands:
- Ability to work in front of a computer for extended periods
