General Description of Position:
The RSA position for Campus Safety requires focus, resourcefulness, efficiency, and the ability to be personable. Because the position demands attention to a variety of different tasks, RSA’s must also be flexible.
Minimum Qualifications
The RSA must be able to provide excellent customer service training by minimally preparing desk workers in answering the phone, transferring calls, and providing proper follow up as needed.
Preferred Qualifications
The requested RSA position would be tasked with identifying, interviewing, hiring and training the new student workers who are assigned to supplement our communications desk. The level of training and experience required for a student worker to become proficient, knowledgeable and able to work without direct supervision in this position can take as long as a semester. The requested RSA would be tasked as a mentor to guide, assist and develop new student workers who work the communications desk. Additionally, the RSA will determine on what independent project they would like to spend the year working. To date, that has included writing a training manual and putting lost and found online.
Physical Demands:
The RSA must be able to go up and down stairs. Also, they should be able to lift no more than 25 pounds on the off chance that it’s needed.
