General Description of Position:
Student perspective and contribution is critical to our content strategy. In keeping with research that content generated by students performs best with student audiences, our Rhodes Student Associate Content Developers will support the Division of Marketing and Communications by capturing photo, video, and interview content, helping to organize and tag that content, and contributing photos and copy to digital and print publications used by the college. Major publications that benefit from the content generated by our students include admission pieces such as the viewbook, departmental fact sheets, and market specific sheets; development pieces used for fundraising and to generate alumni interest in events; and articles used in Rhodes magazine. The main responsibilities of the Content Developers will be to serve as our eyes and ears campus, alerting our office to the unique opportunities of interest to the Rhodes community, and helping capture, catalogue, and share content through photography, copywriting and other creative efforts.
Minimum Qualifications:
Students who already possess a deep interest in photography and copywriting, and the drive to succeed in media and PR, will thrive in this position. Applicants do not have to be in any particular program of study, but we will happily consider applicants with a strong record of photography and writing inside or outside of their coursework. Applicants must have a commitment to showcasing diversity in their content and must be willing to speak/interact with people from backgrounds different from their own. Applicants with excellent project management and strong social skills are also welcome to apply.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience or knowledge of photography
- Experience with Adobe Suite
Physical Demands:
- Long periods of standing during photoshoots.
