HPA Clinical Observation Program - Student Specialist

Position Overview: The Health Professions Advising (HPA) office seeks a motivated student to serve as a Student Specialist. The Specialist will assist in the development and management of a clinical observation program for pre-health sophomores and juniors.

Key Responsibilities:

Technology Creation and Support

  • Develop required Canvas education modules and assignment tasks for students who will participate in this program. Edit and update the Canvas course each semester.

  • Develop a calendar of availability in an HPA platform for students to sign up for shadowing slots once selected for the program.

Communication & Outreach

  • Communicate via phone and email with community partners about participation in a formalized short-term shadowing program for Rhodes pre-health students.

  • Communicate with students via email who apply and are accepted to the program about program requirements.

  • Assist in the planning and logistics of the semesterly Program Orientation Meeting.

Clinical Shadowing Program Coordination

  • Coordinate logistics and assist with pairing for the Clinical Observation Program

  • Create and analyze survey data. Track participation and engagement.

Ideal Candidate Qualifications:

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills

  • Detail-oriented with excellent organizational abilities

  • Comfortable with digital platforms (Box, Canvas, Canva, etc.)

  • Ability to collect and interpret basic data

  • Interest or experience in event planning and coordination

  • Friendly and approachable with a customer service mindset

  • Capable of working independently and taking initiative

  • Collaborative team member with a positive attitude

  • Passion for health professions and helping others succeed
