General Description of Position:

Work with the McCoy Theatre Coordinator on projects related to 2-4 main stage productions and other events throughout the year, including:

  • scenery construction and painting
  • set-up of lighting equipment
  • coordinating access to the Costume Shop for costume designers and crew
  • researching, locating, and organizing props for each production•set-up of seating risers, chairs, curtains, and other needs for performances
  • recruiting and scheduling student volunteers to assist with production-related tasks
  • general organization of the theatre and administrative spaces

Minimum Qualifications:

The candidate must be willing to work a flexible schedule that may include evenings and weekends. Strong communication and organization skills are required.

Preferred Qualifications:

The ideal candidate will have experience working in one or more aspects of technical theatre, including: use of tools and other equipment for building scenery scenic painting, hanging lighting instruments for use in productions, and design and construction of costumes or props. The McCoy Theatre Coordinator and guest artists associated with productions can provide instruction to students who lack experience or want to develop new skills.

Physical Demands:

This position requires physical work, including lifting up to 50 pounds, and may require standing for long periods of time. Ability to climb ladders strongly preferred, but not required.
