Position Overview: The Student Specialist - Study Abroad Supervisor will be on the study abroad leadership team and play a vital role in promoting and supporting study abroad programs. Under the supervision of our staff, and in collaboration with our three RSAs focused on study abroad to develop marketing materials, document events, and assist with training new student associates. The role requires excellent communication, organizational, and leadership skills to ensure the smooth operation of the Buckman Center's student associates.
Key Responsibilities:
- Social Media Content Creation & Posting:
- Develop engaging and informative social media content to promote study abroad programs and events.
- Regularly post updates and maintain an active online presence across various social media platforms.
- Collaboration with RSA Teams:
- Work closely with the Study Abroad RSA, Financial Aid RSA, and Accessibility & Inclusion RSA to create cohesive and inclusive marketing materials for all study abroad events.
- Ensure that all promotional materials align with the Buckman Center's branding and messaging.
- Create content & maintain email address data base for the Buckman Center Monthly Newsletter
- Event Documentation:
- Attend study abroad events to take high-quality photos and videos for documentation and promotional purposes.
- Create visually appealing content that captures the essence of each event and highlights student experiences.
- Training & Supervision:
- Assist with the training of new student associates on Buckman office systems and procedures.
- Provide guidance and support to ensure student associates meet performance expectations.
- Serve as bridge between the study abroad RSA team and other student associates who may be asked to help create content for or design promotional materials for study abroad.
- Reporting:
- Regularly report to the Buckman Center Student Associate Supervisor (Aliza Moran) on the progress and performance of student associates.
- Address any issues or concerns that arise and work towards effective resolutions.
Qualifications:
- Currently enrolled as a student at the institution.
- Strong proficiency in social media platforms and content creation tools.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities.
- Experience in photography and videography is a plus.
- Previous experience in a supervisory or leadership role is preferred but not required.
