Summer Employment - Student Coordinator for Student Transitions

Description:  

The Student Coordinator for Student Transitions supports the Office of Student Transitions in creating a strong and connected start for incoming students at Rhodes College. This role assists in the planning, coordination, and implementation of key transition initiatives, including the ACCESS Mentorship Program and Welcome Week.

Responsibilities:

  • Support the coordination and implementation of the ACCESS Mentorship Program, including orientation, mentor-mentee matching, communication, and logistics 
  • Help plan and execute Welcome Week, including event logistics, materials preparation, and day-of support 
  • Provide on-site support during Welcome Week, including event facilitation and troubleshooting 
  • Communicate key information to incoming students, mentors, and campus partners 
  • Maintain organized records of program participation and engagement 
  • Collaborate with ACCESS Mentors, Peer Assistants, and campus partners to create a welcoming and engaging transition experience 
  • Contribute to assessment and ongoing improvement of transition programs
  • Assist answering phone calls and responding to email inquiries from incoming students and their parents 

 

Requirements:

  • At least one year of experience as a Peer Assistant or ACCESS Mentor is preferred
  • Minimum 2.5 GPA required
  • Ability to be creative, attentive to detail, organized, and work independently
  • Experience with project coordination, organization, and development
  • Ability to work productively and professionally with faculty, staff, students, vendors, and community partners
  • Commitment to academic and developmental emphasis of student transitions, retention, and belonging 
  • Work as a full-time summer student worker with hours set and approved by the Office of Student Transitions
  • Must have no other major commitment, internships, on/off-campus jobs, or activities that interfere with this position during summer 2026 and the 2026 orientation cycle (ACCESS Orientation and Welcome Week)

 

Logistics and Pay: 

  • You will have 14 days of vacation time coordinated and approved by the Office of Student Transitions 
  • You will clock in and out in Workday. The rate of pay is $10.25, before taxes.
  • On-campus housing, in a double room, will be provided at no cost to you.
