How to Print a Poster
The poster printer is in the Digital Media Lab area (second floor of Barret Library).
The standard poster size is 24x36 and the best app to create the poster in is PowerPoint. To format your poster in PowerPoint, click on the Design tab, find Slide Size on the top right, choose Custom Slide Size, plug in 24x36 landscape, and your poster canvas is ready for your design.
Installing the printer (required the first time you use the computer):
1. Go to Start and type in \\PS001
2. Look for the printer: Barret_DML_LF printer and double click on the icon to add it to your personal profile for this computer. (Close out the PS001 windows after step is completed.)
Printing your poster:
1. Go to File > Print.
2. Click the dropbox and select Barret_DML_LF.
3. Click Printer Properties.
4. Look under Document size: and click the dropbox that reads Letter.
5. In the dropbox, Click More....
6. Click Oversize D and then OK.
7. Next, click the Custom… tab.
8. Change the Width: to 24 (This is the standard paper width for the paper in the poster printer).
9. Change the Length: to 36 (This is the standard length, but the length can be adjusted to fit your poster needs).
10. Where it says Custom, change the name to anything of your choice (required to save)
11. Click Save then OK.
12. Click OK.
13. Review the Print Preview in the upper right-hand corner of the dialogue box.
14. Click OK at the bottom of the box to print.
A standard poster size costs $10.50 to print.
