Summer Opportunities
American College of Physicians Summer Internship Program
- The American College of Physicians (ACP) offers undergraduate juniors and seniors, along with graduate students, an opportunity to gain insight and valuable exposure to career options in medicine, health administration, public policy, and other healthcare-related fields.
- The ACP Summer Internship Program is designed to help expand access to careers within the healthcare industry by providing an experience that will inspire students to consider the variety of career opportunities available that influence health, medicine, and public policy.

2026 Orthopaedic Summer Internship
- This is an opportunity for three (3) current college students, preferably rising juniors and seniors.
- The program will run June 15-July 24, 2026.
- The program offers camaraderie and development among the participants; mentorship by current and future orthopaedic surgeons, healthcare professionals and executives; and exposure to the operative, clinical, and business components of medicine. In addition, the opportunities to network include introductions and interaction with executives and physicians representing various healthcare institutions and industry-leading companies. Interns will also study orthopaedic conditions with university research teams.

Baptist Summer Scholars
- The deadline for this application is February 13, 2026.
- A completed application consists of a completed application form (one-page document), a personal statement, and a current resume.
- The 4-week program will be offered in two cohorts: May 11-June 5 and June 15-July 10.
- Information about student applications for summer housing at Rhodes will be available on March 2, 2026.

NYU Project Healthcare – Summer Volunteer Program
- Project Healthcare (PHC) is offered in Manhattan at NYC Health+Hospitals/Bellevue, and in Brooklyn at NYU Langone Hospital—Brooklyn. PHC volunteers are given the opportunity to explore the reality of a career in medicine by providing patient support by carrying out such tasks as talking with patients, supporting them, making phone calls on their behalf, monitoring their length of stay, and helping their emotional and physical wellness within the purview of a volunteer.

- The PHC application is now open and will close on February 1, 2026.

Community Health Opportunity: Project Horseshoe Farm

- Fellows can make a significant positive impact on the health and quality of life of our vulnerable neighbors while honing their skills in the intricate social, emotional, and humanistic aspects of service. They gain a deeper understanding of the lives of their health partners and some of the many challenges our vulnerable neighbors face. Finally, they can support the efforts of local health and social services systems, learn about the strengths and many challenges in these systems through the eyes of their health partners, and discover how their volunteerism as citizen service leaders contributes to a broader framework of community health
