HPA Application Support
If you are applying at the end of this academic year, we encourage you to participate in our application support program. It involves attending our Application Support Workshop Series in person or by watching the recordings in both the fall and spring, and holding an HPA Pre-Applicant meeting in the fall semester. Once these tasks are complete, we will review your personal statement and experiences for your application.
Applicant Workshop Series:
Fall
- Assessing Your Candidacy Meeting
- Applicant Orientation Meeting
- Personal Statements & Experiences Workshop
Spring
- Personal Statement & Experiences Workshop
- Letter Packets (pre-med and pre-dental only)
Summer
- Interview Preparation Workshop (Recorded Presentation)
- Drop-In Applicant Advising: Check the HPA Events page regularly to learn our drop-in advising hours throughout May and June.
Important Notes for Professional School Application Cycles
Timeline & Deadlines
- Application cycles may shift slightly each year. Always confirm with official application services.
- Some programs have priority deadlines that differ from final submission deadlines.
- Rolling Admissions Advantage: Most services review applications as received. Early submission is essential.
- Allow 4-6 weeks after submission for application review and verification.
- Most programs send secondary applications 2-4 weeks after primary submission.
Academic Requirements
- Take your entrance exam by the spring before your application year for optimal timing. NOTE: Generally, there is more flexibility for the GRE timeline, depending on the health profession.
- Complete required courses before application deadlines; some programs allow a few pending courses.
Financial Planning
- Primary application fees range from $175-$264 for the first school, $47-$115 for additional schools.
- Individual programs charge separate application fees beyond the centralized service fees.
- Budget for entrance exams, exam preparation materials, transcript fees, interview travel and lodging, and program deposits.
- Most services offer need-based fee waivers; research and apply early if eligible to reduce costs.
