“Pandora’s Children”
October 10 – December 7, 2014
Curators Panel Discussion: October 9, 6:00 pm, Blount Auditorium
Opening Reception: October 10, 6:00-8:00 pm, Clough Hanson Gallery
This exhibition takes the story of Pandora, the first woman, both despised and revered, as a metaphor that allows us to see feminism not as a movement of linear progress, but of irrevocable change. Three Rhodes alumnae Laura Gray Teekell, Donna Smith, and Lauren Kennedy, who are actively shaping their respective visual arts communities, curate a three-part, contemporary take on feminism with the work of regional and national artists.
