What are Study Groups?
Study groups offer students a chance to learn alongside their peers, stay motivated, and build accountability while working toward shared academic goals. These groups are free for all students and are designed to provide a collaborative environment where participants can review material, discuss challenging concepts, exchange study strategies, and support one another throughout the learning process.
All of our study groups are peer-led, meaning they are facilitated by students rather than faculty or staff. Peer-led groups create opportunities for students to learn from one another's experiences, perspectives, and study approaches while building a sense of community around a shared academic interest or goal.
Fall 2026 Study Groups
MCAT Study Group
We currently offer a peer-led MCAT Study Group in partnership with Health Professions Advising (HPA). This group provides students preparing for the Medical College Admission Test (MCAT) with a supportive space to discuss content, share resources, review study strategies, and stay accountable throughout the preparation process.
Whether you're just beginning your MCAT preparation or are approaching your test date, the group can help you connect with other pre-health students who understand the challenges and commitment involved in preparing for this important exam.
When: Tuesdays & Thursdays from 6:00 PM - 7:00 PM
Where: Ohlendorf 225
Study Group Leader: Ismael Qureshi, Senior, Physics Major/chemistry Minor
Interested in Starting a Study Group?
Don't see a study group that fits your needs? We'd love to hear from you. If you're interested in starting a peer-led study group for a course, major, professional school entrance exam, or other academic interest area, please contact us at learningresources@rhodes.edu. We can help gauge student interest, connect you with potential group members, and explore opportunities to develop a new study group.
Study groups are most successful when they're driven by students, and we're always excited to support new opportunities for peer-to-peer learning.
Are you looking for additional support in a difficult course? Check to see if your course is supported through our Supplemental Instruction (SI) Program.
