September 7, 2023: Meet the Firms
All Accounting, Business, Computer Science, Economics, and Math students are invited to attend the Rhodes College 2023 'Meet the Firms' event on Thursday, September 7, 2023, from 5-7pm in the BCLC Ballroom. This is an opportunity to meet with representatives from prestigious business organizations and learn how to propel your career in business, finance, economics, accounting, computer science, or mathematics. This is an event you can't miss.
September 27, 2023: Graduate School Expo
Join us in the Bryan Campus Life Center on Wednesday, September 27, 2023 from 2:30-5:00pm for an opportunity to meet with graduate schools and learn about programs in the health professions, law, theology, social work, education, business and more! All class years and majors are welcome; please feel free to come and go as you'd like.
October 25, 2023: Fall Career Fair
Meet with local and national employers to discuss internships as well as part-time and full-time jobs. All majors and classifications welcomed as a wide variety of opportunities will be present.
November 1, 2023: Pj's Birthday Party
Join Career Services and other Student Life departments from 3p.m.-5p.m. on Wednesday November 1st FJ to celebrate Rhodes College's favorite feline (aside from The Lynx of course). There will be food, games, music, and guest musical appearances!
November 3, 2023: Career Fest
Join Career Services from 3p.m.-5p.m. on Friday November 3rd in Oak Alley to learn about Career Services resources in an informal setting. You will also have the opportunity to meet fellow students while playing games, receive a free headshot, and shop student businesses and the Career Services Clothes Closet. All years and majors welcome!
February 2, 2024: Shadow Day
Shadow Day serves to provide first and second year students opportunity to explore various career paths without having to leave campus. Rhodes College, like other higher education institutions have a wide range of professions and faculty and staff with vast experiences in different fields. Through this program, first and second year students will engage in career exploration while Career Services works to eliminate barriers to access like transportation and being unfamiliar with the larger Memphis community.
Student Participant Guidelines and Expectations
- Dedicate no less than one hour and no more than three hours on February 2, 2024. If the student and staff/faculty are unable to meet on that day, you are welcomed to meet the week of February 5-9, 2024.
- Be on time for meeting with your Shadow Host and remain attentive and professional throughout the experience.
- Ask meaningful questions during the experience to gain insight and build on your professional skill set.
- For those meeting on Friday, February 2, Career Services encourages shadow hosts and students to enjoy lunch from The Rat between the hours of 11am-1pm in Hyde Hall.
