Meet the 2021-22 Peer Academic Coaches

Dallas Bennett
I'm a senior Chemistry major and Spanish minor. Being on the pre-med track, I have had to take a variety of STEM classes (BIO 130, 140, 307; CHEM 120, 211, 212; MATH 122; PHYS 109, 110) in addition to humanities coursework. As a member of the Women’s tennis team and regular community volunteer, I understand how difficult it can be to balance a rigorous academic course load and still be able to enjoy extracurricular activities and social events. College is not easy, I’ve faced a variety of academic obstacles during my time at Rhodes and have come out a better student. Meet with me and we can work together to figure out how to make your academic experience as manageable as possible.

I’m a sophomore Biology major on the pre-health track. I’ve taken a variety of stem and humanity courses while at Rhodes such as (BIO 130,131,140,141, ECON 100, EDUC 201, ART 152, French, CHEM 120, PSYC150, and Organic Chemistry 1 and 2). I’m happy to help in anyway I can with managing course loads or figuring out a study strategy. I’m all about balance. It’s hard to find find it, achieve it, and maintain it. But, it makes life so much easier. My goal is to try and help people find that balance during college life. Sometime we all just need ways  to take a breadth and refocus (for me it’s taking walks, bike rides, or drinking coffee), but everyone is different! We can walk through strategies to help make college just a tad bit less stressful! Happy to help!

I am a junior Biology major (concentration in Biomedical Science) and minor in Spanish. I have taken multiple courses within the science (MATH 111 and 214; PHYS 109/110; CHEM 120/211; and BIO 130/140 and 311), art (ART 101) and humanities departments, including three semester of courses in the Life Track (RELS 101, 102 and 251). I am involved in the Rhodes Diplomats program, volunteering, shadowing and Greek Life. As a college student one can face many academic, social and physical obstacles. However, facing many myself, I have figured out was to manage my time, new studying skills and organizational skills that work for me. I love getting to know people and finding out was to manage my time, new studying skills and organizational skills that work for me. I love getting to know people and finding out new ways to strive to become a better student. I'd love to create a new friendship while also figuring out a schedule that works for you! Can't wait to meet you!

I'm a sophomore planning to double major in Business and Economics. I have taken courses in both of the departments such as ECON 100, BUS 241, MATH 112, and MATH 116. I have also taken Life courses such as RELS 101 and RELS 102. In addition to that, I have taken courses in the Humanities Department such as LALS 200, HIST233, and URBN 120. And I would also love to help with Spanish since I'm fluent and have been speaking Spanish my entire life. As a Bonner Scholar and a member of many organizations on campus, I understand how difficult it can be to balance a demanding academic schedule and still be able to enjoy extracurricular activities and social events. College is definitely not easy and during my first year at Rhodes, I overcame challenges that, in the end, made me a better student. I learned how to stay motivated and focused, balance my responsibilities, manage my time well, and avoid procrastination. Do not hesitate to reach out to me to figure out how to be the best version of yourself academically and have a great overall experience at Rhodes. Can't wait to get to know you at one of our meetings or events. Roll lynx!!

I am a sophomore Biology major and Health Equity minor from South Florida. I am on the pre-med track and have taken many STEM courses (Bio 130+140, PHYS 109+110, Math 122, Math 211), but I am also on the life track and enjoy a balance of humanities with my STEM classes. As a member of the softball team at Rhodes, I understand how difficult it can be to manage classes, athletics, extracurriculars, and college life. I have learned amazing techniques to plan, organize, and manage my time so that I can pursue all my passions, and I would love to help you do the same. I am excited to meet each of you and help you discover how to make juggling all your activities and classes more manageable. Let’s get started, and make this the best semester yet!
